Caroline & Beau's Idaho Destination Wedding



This destination wedding was an absolute dream! So much love, so many beautiful photos, and memories that Caroline and Beau will carry with them forever—set in the breathtaking mountains of Idaho. Caroline has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember; she and my sister have been best friends since I was little. So when Caroline and Beau booked me for their destination wedding, I was beyond excited to capture their love story.


I had been to Idaho briefly before, but never anywhere near as remote as this! The drive from Boise to Salmon? Stunning. The mountains, the wildlife, the lush fields of grass—it seriously felt like I was in the show, Yellowstone! It was incredible.


A Beautifully Organic Western Idaho Wedding


Caroline and Beau’s wedding took place in July, and let me tell you, it was HOT. Like, sweat-through-your-clothes hot. The heat in Salmon does not mess around. But despite the intense heat, I can’t help but think of this day as such a fun one to document.


The venue was the perfect blend of organic western vibes. Western boots on everyone’s feet, a rustic panel backdrop, and the sound of the river flowing next to the ceremony made it all feel so magical. Some of my favorite moments? Caroline and Beau sharing communion by the river, surrounded by their closest loved ones who prayed over them. It was such a beautiful, intimate moment. Then we drove up the mountain to a bluff for sunset photos, where I captured the most stunning, intimate shots as the light disappeared behind the mountains.


Road Trip, Coffee, and Car Snacks—Because Who Doesn’t Love That?


One of the best parts of this trip was getting to spend the time with my sister, since she was in the wedding. We turned the drive from Boise to Salmon into a little road trip of our own, complete with snacks, podcasts, and all the best conversation. And if you’re ever near Boise, you have to stop for coffee at Push & Pour and try the Blueberry Latte—it’s hands down one of the best lattes I’ve ever had.


I’m so thankful we had that time together—just a little adventure before the big day.
